Back in the dizzy I used to go to Poplife in Miami occasionally. It’s pretty decent, for something that usually required me to park a my car under an overpass for I-95, wherein a homeless guy would offer to “protect” it for just $10 while I was inside…. but I digress.
E*Rock opened for Ratatat at a show I went to a few weeks back, and it was way impressive. I recommend.

What, no Rock Band this time?
With Julia, Meghan and Mary of NonSociety.com at the CNN Grill
Yeah, the only way I’m going to forgive you for this is with inauguration parties.
And I shall leave to the reader whether by “this” I mean not getting to go to the party with you or your eventual fall to the ultimate interwebz photo op.

Parody ad for 92YTribeca, written and directed by Michael Showalter and starring like 50 hilarious people.BEST. Any Mirman is good Mirman.
Most of the time, I feel like I’m isolated in my myopic obsession turned hatred of like … stuff. Then I see the internet, and am consoled.
I couldn’t wait to see which of the queens I “knew” from my extensive Ft. Lauderdale to New York drag show travels on Ru Paul’s new show Drag Race. Lo and behold, it’s Shannel from here in NYC. One night at Vlada I got up on stage with her to do some “stupid human tricks” kind of thing and busted out my natarajasana to wild applause. Good times.
Sidenote: Where is Daisy Deadpetals??? She’d win this thing hands down.
One of my favorite pieces from last night’s opening reception at A.I.R. Gallery, in Brooklyn (DUMBO) where I went to see one of my friend’s pieces (Elizabeth White) on display.
The piece in the photo above is actually a video where someone is “cleaning” the horizon. Occasionally people or a dog would jog through the frame. The effect was really well executed without taking itself too seriously. I could have watched it for hours.
There were several stellar stand-outs, and a dozen+ galleries on the same floor. I totally recommend checking out 111 Front St. if you get a chance as it’s a really densely packed space.
This was another of my favorites:

Of course, I was lame and forgot to write down the artists’ names for these two pieces, so now I have to try to figure it out somehow. Sorry!

Ever wonder what the flashing string of numbers in Union Square is counting… or how to read it? Well, it’s a counting time (yes, it’s a clock, boooooo-ring…) and here’s how to read it, via doanie:
The 15 numbers of the digital clock display time going and coming relative to midnight. Read time going left to right and time coming in the opposite direction. So, if the clock reads 180746***135205 it means that it is 6:07 P.M. (18 hours/07 minutes/46 seconds since midnight) and that there are 5 hours/52 minutes/13 seconds remaining until midnight. The three numbers in between are a blur of moving numbers. It is like a digital hourglass.
I admit, I never had a clue how the hell to read that thing. Mystery solved!
