Back in the dizzy I used to go to Poplife in Miami occasionally. It’s pretty decent, for something that usually required me to park a my car under an overpass for I-95, wherein a homeless guy would offer to “protect” it for just $10 while I was inside…. but I digress.
E*Rock opened for Ratatat at a show I went to a few weeks back, and it was way impressive. I recommend.
Oct 29th @ White Room
Andrew Bird (via catbird)
Andrew Bird gets major props from me for being on Righteous Babe Records back in the day and jammin with my all time favorite folkrock goddess Ani DiFranco. She’s released a pretty diverse group of artists, but I have loved (or at least reallllly liked) them all.
I got some video of the Prodigy show @ Roseland Ballroom on Friday, but upon trying to upload it today…. um …. it appears my phone is M.I.A. That’s not good.
So instead, here’s someone with good HD footage of Voodoo People.
(click the HD link on the bottom right of the player if it doesn’t default to high quality for you.)
I was a little closer than this guy, but ended up moving out to the back after being stepped on by huge combat boots for the umpteenth time and thinking I was about to lose a toe.
The full on awesomeness of Peaches @ Webster Hall this past Saturday more than made up for the lackluster Crystal Method show I saw the week before. She was diverse, dynamic, interesting, and seems to be getting even better with age.
(Note: The somewhat tinny audio doesn’t do the electroclash bass justice.)
Peaches at Terminal 5, Saturday night. She consistently puts on one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen.
As the crowd joined in screaming “shirts come off” during Set It Off, people started throwing their shirts downstage. She then put them on, one on top of another, and thanked New York for clothing her. PUNKROCK. (video above)
Based on Postage by Greg Cooper. Everything heavily modified by me.
