Resuming work on the old family pics digital archive… ran across this shot of my grandmother, 1943. This needs to be on an album cover, stat.
Andrew Bird (via catbird)
Andrew Bird gets major props from me for being on Righteous Babe Records back in the day and jammin with my all time favorite folkrock goddess Ani DiFranco. She’s released a pretty diverse group of artists, but I have loved (or at least reallllly liked) them all.

Random reblog of the third thing I ever “liked” on Tumblr (the first two I now think are boring). I have a shirt that says this.

Oooooooooh… I have always loved Cuban-heel stockings, but never saw this color combination. Found them on Amazon (oddly, not on the LegAvenue website). Squee!

I usually remember books by their cover, because that is often a good way to judge if the content/brand will appeal to you. We must judge books by their covers in the modern world because of the rapid production output of the information economy.
[Catcher in the Rye] reminds me of ‘a book that some bro would list in their fave books section of their Facebook profile.’ I don’t have very many positive experiences with the brand extension of Catcher in the Rye. … Feel like the Holden Caulfield costume never really ‘caught on’ like the Richie Tenenbaum costume.
